River Outlook for 2021
We had an awesome 2020 season, The black drake hatch was great , lots of hexes, grasshoppers and an amazing Mahogany Dun hatch. We caught rainbows in the 20-26” and a lot of nice brook trout. Dayton and Sally Hyde did a great job cooking and taking care of the lodge for the 2020 season. We will again try to be flexible with our guests and keep up on covid-19 guidelines. We hope those of you who fished with us will return and are doing well. Also hope for some new fishing enthusiasts to join our family and friends.
The Williamson River is in great shape and the work we have been doing has paid off very well! We have lots of new holes, and the rainbow populations are expanding and the brook trout are doing well. Our season will open April 22nd this year, the April /May fishing looks to be great with a good hatch of PMD’s. June brings on the Black Drake hatch, July is the Hexagenia hatch and August you can expect hoppers, Baietus and Caddis. September and October we have a great Mahogany Dun hatch with October Caddis and Fall Caddis. The nymph and streamer fishing is productive all year.
We are hoping for another higher than normal snow pack this winter. The lake filled up about half-way last winter and we are hoping it will fill full this year! We put fish in last spring that are doing well and the fishing was great all summer!
We had the opportunity to host Ford Outfitters for a show promoting Ford Trucks and Yamsi Ranch that turned out great. ”fordoutfitters.com” episode 9, Also Catch Magazine “catchmagazine.net” and Todd Moen did a film on the Ranch that is awesome , be sure to watch them.
The calendar is filling up fast, we look forward to fishing with you on the river and Hyde lake. Hope you all have a great 2021 and thank you for the memories.
